Overview
Six minutes of darkness over Luxor
On 2 August 2027, a total solar eclipse passes directly over Luxor — one of the longest total eclipses on Earth in centuries. You will watch the whole event from an air-conditioned VIP lounge on Luxor's West Bank.

The journey starts in Cairo with the Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, continues with two nights in Hurghada and a drive to Luxor the day before the eclipse, then five nights on a VIP ultra deluxe Dahabiya sailing from Luxor to Aswan, with visits to the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Edfu, Gebel El Silsila and Kom Ombo, plus an excursion to Abu Simbel. It ends back in Cairo with the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, Old Cairo and the Salah El-Din Citadel.
Egyptologist guides, domestic flights, hotels, the full-board Dahabiya and all listed entrance fees are included.

1Thursday, 29 July 2027Arrival in Cairo+
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, your tour manager will meet and assist you, then transfer you to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. After check-in, your tour manager will go over the itinerary with you and confirm the pick-up times for your Cairo tours. The rest of the day is free to relax.

2Friday, 30 July 2027Pyramids & GEM, then fly to Hurghada+
After breakfast, check out and head with your guide to the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Have lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant, then continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), about 2 km from the pyramids. Afterwards, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Hurghada. On arrival you will be met, assisted and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

After breakfast, check out and drive from Hurghada to Luxor (about 5 hours), arriving one day before the eclipse. On arrival, transfer to your VIP ultra deluxe Dahabiya in Luxor for embarkation. The rest of the day is free to relax on board.

After breakfast on board, transfer from the Dahabiya to the West Bank, where you will watch the eclipse from a VIP lounge with air conditioning, with a view of the whole event from start to finish.

6Tuesday, 3 August 2027Luxor West Bank, lunch on Al Ramady Island and stargazing+
After breakfast, explore the West Bank of Luxor. Start at the Royal Cemetery and the Valley of the Kings, burial place of 62 pharaohs. Continue to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahari, dating back to the 15th century BC, and finish at the Colossi of Memnon. Enjoy lunch on Al Ramady Island, followed by an evening of stargazing on the Nile.

9Friday, 6 August 2027Abu Simbel, then fly back to Cairo+
Early morning at around 04:00 AM, your tour manager will pick you up to board an air-conditioned coach to the Temples of Abu Simbel (about 3.5 hours each way). Built by Ramses II, the two temples — the Great Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Queen Nefertari, dedicated to Hathor — are among the masterpieces of ancient Egypt, and were relocated through a joint effort by the Egyptian government and UNESCO to save them from the waters of the Aswan Dam. After returning to Aswan, take your flight back to Cairo and transfer to your hotel for check-in.

10Saturday, 7 August 2027NMEC, Old Cairo and the Salah El-Din Citadel+
After breakfast, visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) and its Royal Mummies Hall. Continue to Old Cairo to see some of Egypt's oldest churches and landmarks. Lunch at a local restaurant, then visit the Salah El-Din Citadel and the Mohammed Ali Mosque, with panoramic views over Cairo.
